Reitsma, in collaboration with NBRS Architects, successfully completed the construction of the new Atrium Building & Heritage Chapel restoration at St George Christian School, Hurstville.

The three-story building is centrally located within the school, presenting challenges in limited access and requiring ongoing consultation to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations. The new facility includes a wood tech space, student reception, staff rooms, and general learning areas, enhancing connectivity across different parts of the school. The project also involved a significant makeover of the external areas on both elevations, offering students new open and covered play spaces with detailed landscaping. The restoration of the chapel, a crucial aspect of the project, demanded meticulous attention to detail and the expertise of many. Refreshing this building was particularly rewarding as it holds immense significance for the school’s past, present, and future.
