Having travelled with this family from Zimbabwe to Australia in 2012, Donald Gonzo and his family were granted a protection visa in 2013 from the Australian Government. Donald commenced his studies at the University of Newcastle in 2014 where he received a distinction average for first two years of his study. In 2015, Donald received the first ever Australian Institute of Building Student Scholarship.

In 2016, Donald commenced work with Reitsma Constructions to further develop of our quality, environmental and safety systems. This month, Donald received the inaugural Head Of School Award for Work-Integrated-Learning for the work done at Reitsma Constructions as well as academic achievements.
